Gifted and Talented Workshops

We are pleased to be able to offer a series of workshops for Talented and Gifted primary school students in years 5 and 6. These have been updated and modified for the 2011/2012 academic year.   

These workshops are designed to stretch the mind as well as developing team building skills.  We have 6 workshops altogether and they are priced at just £10 per student per day.  Due to popular demand these workshops are now available to you local cluster of schools as an in school visit.

The Sun As a Star -  all about our Sun, Sun Spots, The Solar Cycle.  Make a Sundial , Observations

Stars and Galaxies -Discover our wonderful Galaxy. Life cyle of a Star, Constellations.  Make a Planesphere

Worlds beyond our Earth -  All about the Planets, The Seasons, Terrestrials and Phases of the moon.  Solar Puzzle

Technology to Explore -  Looking at how we explore space and the universe both remotely and with manned missions. Students will     build  and launch their own rocket using creativity and applying physics.

Technology to Investigate - What is out there and how do we know?  using latest images and technologies the students will gain an insight into the ever evolving space around them.

Planet under Siege -   What is it like to live in Space!  How Space Scientists play a vital role in understanding our world as a living organism under threat. 

All students receive a certificate for each workshop that they complete.  For schools booking 4 or more workshops the Space Centre will host a Presentation Evening for the students with prize giving awards (Free of Charge).
